Yellow's new mission and its leader were revealed on Breakfast this morning.
The winner of the project (not a treehouse!) is 27-year-old Great Barrier Island native Josh Winger, an aspiring actor/musician and sometimes surfer.
The mission for Mr Winger is to create a chocolate bar that tastes like Yellow.
Confused? Fair enough. It's a far cry from the treehouse restaurant, and it's a bit random, to say the least.
“Yellow actually tastes like what?” Mr Winger said.
“Maybe lemon, banana, or pineapple ... but it also makes me think of things like sunshine. Or something girly, like yellow flowers ... but how do I make that a flavour? And more importantly, how do I make it taste good?”
You're on your own there, buddy.
Mr Winger has been allocated some working space in Dominion Road, Mt Eden, to create his Yellow Chocolate, using only Yellow Pages.
He'll be blogging and Twittering and chocolating from Wednesday, so hop to the new site www.yellowchocolate.co.nz to fill yourself in.
Mr Winger's mission is to create a Yellow-tasting chocolate bar.

What happened to the space
What happened to the space rocket idea? Chocolate? Palm Oil? Are they saying you can now access Yellowpages from your Palm? Lame.
Yellow snow tastes like
Yellow snow tastes like yellow. Is this a p1ss take?
I like it. The idea had to
I like it. The idea had to be random to follow up building a treehouse restaurant. Otherwise people would say it was boring.
It is random and weird. But
It is random and weird. But it could be really interesting.
It's clear they're trying to
It's clear they're trying to do something as far removed from building a massive structure like the treehouse as poss - and thereby avoid close comparison/boredom factor from using same types of businesses from yellow pages. I think it's a smart approach.
Meanwhile, you still can't search Yellow
and find what you're looking for.
How about spending some money on a website that lets me look addresses up or gives me a company's HQ phone number even when I don't know what city it's HQ is in?
Until then: Google is my friend.
It's dot com all over again
Why bother implementing strange marketing if the product you are promoting has no relevance??
These guys would be better off spending that money on some engineers who can write some decent code to make their search "just work".
The treehouse was great - but i'm still using google for my local search.
At the Marketing Association
At the Marketing Association luncheon last week, they were talking about how this new idea will "bring New Zealand together" - ummmm HOW?
Hello Colensaim!
Hello Colensaim!
Brilliant AIM, once again.
Brilliant AIM, once again.
We can already smell Yellow
We can already smell Yellow so we don't need to taste it.
If Yellow is happy to blow mega-millions on theatrics from their advertising agency while Rome burns on their website, good on them. But it won't get us using Yellow. Their search engine is the most delapidated, clapped out time-waster known to modern man.
Their mega-millions would be better spent fixing it.
Google my friends. That is the answer. Yellow is smellow.
i like the idea...
I think the idea is cool - I am looking forward to the taste testing!!!
It's different, but...
.....not big enough. The chocalate bar market is a lot more cluttered than the restuarant in a tree market, it won't get the same cut through or coverage.
Yellow chocolate flavour
A good idea for the yellow chocolate would be Nz's kiwi fruit the yellow zespri! can't think of anything like that as of yet & it would be an amazing taste with chocolate ;)
Yellow tasting
What about a white milk chocolate bar with a passionfruit flavour it's got more MMMMMmmmmmmmmm!
It actually tastes YELLOW....
I purchased a bar of yellow chocolate this afternoon for a wopping $2! I have to say it was quite an experience as I sat in car and unwrapped the golden wrapping... I felt like I had won a golden ticket! It was most certainly YELLOW looking which was so cool, and all I could think of when I was eating it was it actually tastes YELLOW!!! I finished the whole bar and now I want to go back for MORE! I'm addicted to YELLOW.... ;o)
