Online community concerned at Law Commission's report

The Law Commission’s latest report has raised controversy amongst internet service providers on who will police the removal of breached content posted online, InternetNZ says.

The report that was released this week discusses the issues relating to name suppression and evidence in court cases and has taken a swipe at the online community on the publication of such breaches.

Courts quieter as liquidation applications numbers fall

The courts are quieter as the numbers of applications at High Court to liquidate companies has dramatically fallen nationwide.

NBR obtained statistics from the Ministry of Justice that show the number of liquidations granted at the High Court in May was just 127, while in April there were just 134 liquidations.

Surprisingly low after granted liquidation applications in both February and March went over the 200 mark.
