Bridgecorp lawyers ready to defend case

Lawyers for Bridgecorp's directors today said they were ready to proceed with their case and that there was no need for further intermediary steps.

At the Auckland District Court this morning, both parties agreed they did not need to meet again until the full hearing, scheduled for mid-September.

Charges have been laid by the Securities Commission, the Serious Fraud Office and the Companies Office.

The Securities Commission confirmed that the parties appeared in court today to ensure that they were up to speed on the proceedings.
